HOA Meeting – Thursday, April 15th, 6:30pm at the Cypress Trails Pavilion
All homeowners are welcome and encouraged to attend this quarterly meeting of your HOA Board of Directors.
Brookwood Yard Sale – Saturday, April 17th, 8am-2pm
Although announcements are being placed in some media, please use your own social networks to draw more attention to this event. You are welcome to place balloons in your yard to show that you are open for business during this time period.
The community is starting to sparkle for the season and you have three more weekends to start decorating or enhance your display for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the Valley Smoke Restaurant at 11 South Roscoe Blvd.
The contest, sponsored by the Brookwood HOA, will be judged during an evening of the week of December 21 by Anna Hornstein, our property manager at First Coast. Make sure your lights are turned on by 6pm. Our judge will be looking for creativity, color schemes, amount of lights, coordination of displays, overall appearance, animation and originality.
The winning homeowner will be announced by a news post on the HOA website the following day. Let’s make this a competition where we all have fun and make our neighborhood shine in the process!
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the party previously scheduled for 2-4pm on Sunday, March 29, is cancelled. We want to thank two residents, Natalie Rooke, HOA social chair, and Linda Olson for their initial work on planning for the event.
Mark your calendars for 2-4pm on Sunday, March 29, because the Easter Bunny will be coming to Brookwood’s playground area for photo shoots. The party, sponsored by our HOA, also will include special treats and yard games during the two-hour event.
Our social committee chair, Natalie Rooke, will be heading up the event. If you would like to help her with the spring party or join her committee, please send an email to BrookwoodHOAWebsite@gmail.com.
Tiny princesses and masked adventure figures are the highlights of tomorrow’s Halloween party, but a display with color swatches on it is also bound to draw some attention.
Homeowners soon will be voting on whether new exterior paint color options should be added to the HOA’s approved list of colors. And, the proposed colors for front doors and shutters will be available for viewing at Sunday’s (Oct. 20) Halloween party at 4pm at the playground.
What’s better than a Halloween gathering? A Halloween gathering with pizza! Join your neighbors at the HOA-sponsored fall social at 4pm on Sunday, October 20th near the Brookwood playground.
There will be Halloween decorations, and games for the kids, says Natalie Rooke, HOA Social Committee Lead. If you can lend Natalie a hand with the arrangements, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will let her know.
Residents and children are encouraged to dress up and decorate their golf carts for the occasion. The golf carts will line up so that candy can be given out in a Trunk or Treat fashion. Those without carts are welcome to bring candy and set up a table.

It should be nice weather for the HOA-sponsored Spring Social at 4pm on Sunday, April 29th, at the playground. The intent of the social is to bring old and new neighbors together so they can meet each other.
Snacks will be provided and children can enjoy the playground while parents have an opportunity to meet one another.
The social will also be a good opportunity to see pictures of a style of a covered bench that is being considered for just outside the playground area.
So walk, drive, bike or cart to the playground on Sunday and meet some new faces!
