Halloween Party scheduled for October 30th

What’s better than a Halloween party? A Halloween party with a bouncy house! Join your neighbors at the HOA-sponsored fall social at 1pm on Saturday, October 30th, near the Brookwood playground.

There will be Halloween decorations, games for the kids and a bouncy house! If you can lend our social chair, Natalie Rooke, a hand with the arrangements, please contact us at [email protected] and we will let her know. She also trying to find two corn hole games to set up for any of the adults who want to play a game or two while the kids bounce in the house.

Residents and children are encouraged to dress up and decorate their golf carts for the occasion. The golf carts will line up so that candy can be given out in a “Trunk or Treat” fashion. Those without carts are welcome to bring candy and set up a table.

HOA Meeting – Thursday, April 15th, 6:30pm at the Cypress Trails Pavilion

All homeowners are welcome and encouraged to attend this quarterly meeting of your HOA Board of Directors.

Brookwood Yard Sale – Saturday, April 17th, 8am-2pm

Although announcements are being placed in some media, please use your own social networks to draw more attention to this event. You are welcome to place balloons in your yard to show that you are open for business during this time period.

Get ready for the 2020 Holiday Lights Contest

The community is starting to sparkle for the season and you have three more weekends to start decorating or enhance your display for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the Valley Smoke Restaurant at 11 South Roscoe Blvd.

The contest, sponsored by the Brookwood HOA, will be judged during an evening of the week of December 21 by Anna Hornstein, our property manager at First Coast. Make sure your lights are turned on by 6pm. Our judge will be looking for creativity, color schemes, amount of lights, coordination of displays, overall appearance, animation and originality.

The winning homeowner will be announced by a news post on the HOA website the following day. Let’s make this a competition where we all have fun and make our neighborhood shine in the process!

Spring Party Cancelled

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the party previously scheduled for 2-4pm on Sunday, March 29, is cancelled. We want to thank two residents, Natalie Rooke, HOA social chair, and Linda Olson for their initial work on planning for the event.

Spring Party and Every Bunny is Invited

Mark your calendars for 2-4pm on Sunday, March 29, because the Easter Bunny will be coming to Brookwood’s playground area for photo shoots. The party, sponsored by our HOA, also will include special treats and yard games during the two-hour event.

Proposed paint colors debut during tomorrow’s Halloween party

Tiny princesses and masked adventure figures are the highlights of tomorrow’s Halloween party, but a display with color swatches on it is also bound to draw some attention.

Homeowners soon will be voting on whether new exterior paint color options should be added to the HOA’s approved list of colors. And, the proposed colors for front doors and shutters will be available for viewing at Sunday’s (Oct. 20) Halloween party at 4pm at the playground.

This Week’s July 4th Golf Cart Parade

In case you missed it, six golf carts from Brookwood joined almost 200 carts from all across Nocatee for the first July 4th Golf Cart Parade. Brookwood to participate in Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade

Nocatee will hold its first Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade tomorrow and a group from Brookwood will participate.  The parade starts at 11am and will go through the following communities: The Enclave, Lakeside, Daniel Park, Addison Park, Willowcove and Tidewater.

There’s still time to participate! Just contact Brookwood organizer Natalie Rooke if you have her contact information, or send an email to [email protected]. The group will organize at 9:45am tomorrow at the Brookwood Park.

If you aren’t participating in the parade, come watch and cheer along the route! The parade will be starting at 11am at the Swim Club Green and will last approximately 35 minutes.

Prizes provided by Ponte Vedra Golf Carts will be awarded to the most active community, most patriotic golf cart and most creative golf cart.
