Brookwood Halloween Party scheduled for October 30th

The werewolves will howl, the monsters will mash! It’s time to celebrate with a Halloween bash!

Join your neighbors at the HOA-sponsored fall social at 1pm on Sunday, October 30th, near the Brookwood playground.

There will be a Bouncy House and slide, Halloween decorations, and games for the kids!

Residents and children are encouraged to dress up and decorate their golf carts for the occasion. The golf carts will line up so that candy can be given out in a “Trunk or Treat” fashion. Those without carts are welcome to bring candy and set up a table.

If you can lend our social chair, Natalie Rooke, a hand with the arrangements, please contact us at [email protected] and we will let her know. She also is trying to find two corn hole games to set up for any of the adults who want to play a game or two while the kids bounce in the house.

Spring Party Cancelled

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the party previously scheduled for 2-4pm on Sunday, March 29, is cancelled. We want to thank two residents, Natalie Rooke, HOA social chair, and Linda Olson for their initial work on planning for the event.

Spring Party and Every Bunny is Invited

Mark your calendars for 2-4pm on Sunday, March 29, because the Easter Bunny will be coming to Brookwood’s playground area for photo shoots. The party, sponsored by our HOA, also will include special treats and yard games during the two-hour event.

Our social committee chair, Natalie Rooke, will be heading up the event. If you would like to help her with the spring party or join her committee, please send an email to [email protected].

Halloween came early at Brookwood

Costumes, games, pizza and smiles describe the party at the playground recently. Thank you to Natalie Rooke, chair of the social committee, and her parents, Sarah and Ed Rooke, for organizing and setting up Brookwood’s second Halloween party.

Spring Social this Sunday!

It should be nice weather for the HOA-sponsored Spring Social at 4pm on Sunday, April 29th, at the playground. The intent of the social is to bring old and new neighbors together so they can meet each other.

Snacks will be provided and children can enjoy the playground while parents have an opportunity to meet one another.

The social will also be a good opportunity to see pictures of a style of a covered bench that is being considered for just outside the playground area.

So walk, drive, bike or cart to the playground on Sunday and meet some new faces!

Spring Social slated for April 29th

Mark your calendars for an HOA-sponsored Spring Social at 4pm on Sunday, April 29th, at the playground. The intent of the social is to bring old and new neighbors together so they can meet each other.

It’s hard for most of us to consider ourselves “old” neighbors, but on average, Brookwood now welcomes new homeowners about once a month, said Terry Jones, who leads the Communications Committee for the HOA. Committee members thought that it would be a good idea to hold an event to get everyone together now and then.  So, the Spring Social is the first attempt to do that.

Snacks will be provided and children can enjoy the playground while parents have an opportunity to meet one another. If it rains, the social will be rescheduled for another weekend.

Welcome the Zanello Family!

Irma, Luca and Lenny Zanello

Homeowners on Wayfare Lane got new neighbors last month when the Zanello family moved in. Irma and Lenny Zanello moved in with their 2 1/2 year-old-son, Luca, and a little rabbit named Domino.

The Zanellos moved to Nocatee from South Florida and like living in a new home in a neighborhood with a sense of community.

According to Lenny, Luca likes soccer and cars and is learning a second language from his German-speaking mother. You can meet the Zanellos at an upcoming HOA-sponsored Spring Social at 4pm on Sunday, April 29th, at the playground.  Look for an upcoming news post for more details.

With the help of the Welcome Committee, the Brookwood news posts will now publish a post everytime we get permission from an incoming family. If you are or know of a family that has joined Brookwood in the last year, please tell us at [email protected] and we will do our best to do another feature like this one.
