Water smell will gradually dissipate

Some of the Nocatee neighborhoods are experiencing a sewage smell from standing water in the conservation areas. As a precaution, JEA tested the sewers, reclaimed water and retention ponds. There are no findings of any issues with them.water-quality-image

The conservation areas have not yet drained due to the groundwater still being saturated from Hurricane Matthew. This will subside over time as soon as the water percolates in the ground.

For homeowners who received a mosquito spraying notice, this pertains to St. Johns County communities only.
