Brookwood’s HOA board will meet at 6:30pm on Thursday, May 25, at the Cypress Trails Pavilion. All homeowners are welcome and encouraged to attend. After the board goes through its regular agenda there is a time for homeowner questions and comments. Your interest in the community is appreciated.
Congratulations to Terry and Kevin Jones who won Brookwood’s holiday lighting contest. The winners live at 417 Wayfare Lane and received a $50 gift certificate to the Valley Smoke Restaurant.
Kevin used a combination of net and string lights to accompany a lighted tree and pink flamingo. “The effort included adding more lights than last year and quite a few trips up and down the ladder,” he said.
The judges included our property manager and HOA board members as the association sponsored the event. Thanks also to Yianni Demopoulos and his team for decorating the entrances to the community.
The werewolves will howl, the monsters will mash! It’s time to celebrate with a Halloween bash!
Join your neighbors at the HOA-sponsored fall social at 1pm on Sunday, October 30th, near the Brookwood playground.
There will be a Bouncy House and slide, Halloween decorations, and games for the kids!
Residents and children are encouraged to dress up and decorate their golf carts for the occasion. The golf carts will line up so that candy can be given out in a “Trunk or Treat” fashion. Those without carts are welcome to bring candy and set up a table.
If you can lend our social chair, Natalie Rooke, a hand with the arrangements, please contact us at [email protected] and we will let her know. She also is trying to find two corn hole games to set up for any of the adults who want to play a game or two while the kids bounce in the house.
This year’s HOA Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Nocatee Welcome Center’s second floor ballroom. All homeowners are welcome and encouraged to attend. A short meeting of the board will take place at 6:30pm with the annual meeting to follow at 7pm.
A mailing with more details should have arrived in homeowners’ mailboxes earlier this week. If you can’t attend this year’s meeting, please fill out and submit a proxy form so that a quorum can be obtained to conduct business.
A copy of the 2023 proposed operating budget with detailed budget assumptions is available here or can be found at the top of the Documents page of this website. The proposed budget reflects a $35 increase in the HOA fee from 2022.
This is a great opportunity to come out and meet your board members, Bill Fitzgerald, Ty Blake and James Hostetter. No vote for officers is required as there were only three candidates to fill the three positions.

Brookwood’s August “Yard of the Month” award was won by Raul Carrasco at 268 Willow Ridge Drive. This is the second time that his yard gets this designation since the award was started three years ago.
The Carrasco residence is beautifully landscaped with a stone border circling the plantings. The award is sponsored by the Brookwood HOA and a sign is placed in the yard of the winner.
