Bill McGuire, who is an original owner on Wayfare Lane, died August 9th at the McGraw Hospice on the Mayo Clinic campus. He and his wife, Chris, have both been active in the HOA with Bill serving on the Document Review Committee and contributing a number of photos used on the Brookwood website.

Chris and Bill moved to Nocatee from Framingham, Mass. Before he retired, Bill was an auditor and financial policy writer for ABB in Stamford, Conn. Besides Chris, Bill is survived by two daughters, Dawn McGuire of Amherst, N.H. and Lynn Tietel of St. Paul, Minn., and a granddaughter, Katie McGuire Jones, also of Amherst, N.H.

Bill decided to make an anatomical donation to the University of Florida in Gainesville. Chris plans to hold an open house at some point to honor and remember him.

In lieu of flowers, Chris would appreciate donations to McGraw Hospice in Bill’s name.  McGraw is part of the Community Hospice & Palliative Care network and memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257 or by giving online at support.communityhospice.com.

William Fitzgerald, one of Brookwood’s HOA board members, is running in this year’s election . He is running for Board Seat 3 of the Tolomato Community Development District (CDD).

The Tolomato CDD was established to assist in the financing and construction of public infrastructure within Nocatee including major roadways, parks and other amenities serving property owners in Nocatee. The CDD has the responsibility to operate and maintain these improvements.

Fitzgerald has served as the HOA Treasurer since its inception. He and his wife, Michele, live on Wayside Lane in Brookwood.
