Duval County Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday
Brookwood Holiday Lights Contest
Create our community’s best lighting display and win a $50 gift certificate to Ponte Vedra Beach’s newest restaurant, Nona Blue.
The contest, sponsored by the Brookwood HOA, will be judged the evening of Tuesday, December 20th, by Matt Ciupak, property manager at BCM Services. Our judge will be looking for creativity, color schemes, amount of lights, coordination of displays, overall appearance, animation and originality.
The winning homeowner(s) will be announced by a news post on the HOA website the following day. Let’s make this a competition where we all have fun and entertain each other in the process!
Fairies to Ghouls
If you had to work late on Halloween, check out a sampling of visitors who were decked out in a myriad of costumes! You will find all the photos by clicking here to be taken to Brookwood’s Photo Gallery.
HOA Forming Welcome Committee
Now that Brookwood is established, we are starting to see new people move into our neighborhood as second owners. Sue and Mike Sietsma volunteered to co-chair a new Welcome Committee at the last HOA meeting and they are asking for other volunteers to join them in greeting new neighbors.
The committee’s goal is to warmly welcome each new household to our neighborhood and provide information about Brookwood, Nocatee and the surrounding area. If you like to meet new people and want to get more involved with your HOA, please contact Sue Sietsma at [email protected]

HOA Meeting Update
Monday’s HOA Board meeting will start at 7pm rather than 6:30, as was previously posted. All homeowners are welcome to attend the meeting that is being held in the small conference room at the northeast end of Crosswater Hall.
Besides routine committee reports, items on the agenda include discussion of the street trees, the formation of a new Welcome Committee and other neighborhood issues.
Parking reminders
Fall has arrived and between football games and holiday cheer, the parties are starting along with more on-street parking.
Please keep in mind that the streets in Brookwood are owned by the county and there are a few rules that need to be followed. Parking must:
- be facing the correct direction as the side of the street on which the vehicle is parked
- not block the flow of an emergency or near a fire hydrant
- not be at a stop sign or intersection
Also, when guests park in your driveway, please ask them to be mindful of keeping the sidewalk unblocked.
Boil Water Advisory Lifted
According to a Blog Post made by Nocatee Community Manager David Ray this morning, JEA lifted the precautionary boil water advisory issued September 13th for Nocatee. JEA issued the boil water advisory due to a water outage in the area. Water quality testing was conducted and the results meet water quality standards.
For more information regarding this advisory, contact JEA Customer Service at 904-665-6000.
Reminder: Yard Sale on Saturday
Get your items ready for the Brookwood Community Yard Sale to be held at 8 am – noon on Saturday, April 16th. Kelly Point and Cypress Trails will also host yard sales on the same day.
Homeowners are welcome to hang balloons or temporary signage in their yards to let people know you are participating and open for business. Those with only a few items to sell may congregate at the open yard area by the park. Bring your own table(s).
A notice already has been placed on the Nocatee website. Your HOA board members will also post signs at the entrances to attract those who drive by the area. Make sure to spread the word through your social networks to ensure maximum visibility.
